The Pet Detective Telugu Release: Anupama Parameswaran’s OTT Film on ZEE5 Nov 28

Kochi, Kerala, India: Anupama Parameswaran continues to expand her presence across South Indian cinema, with most of her films now being dubbed into Telugu. Her latest Malayalam project, “The Pet Detective,” is also set for a Telugu release on ZEE5.

The actress, who hails from Kerala, has been working at a fast pace this year. She has appeared in seven films across three languages, six of which have already hit theaters. Her seventh film, “Lockdown,” is scheduled to release on December 5, and its Telugu version is titled “Nibandham.”

Earlier in February, the Tamil film “Dragon” opened to strong box-office results, giving Anupama a solid start for the year. Following that, her women-centric project “Paradha” released in August, generating a big buzz prior to release, though it didn’t perform as strongly as anticipated.

She later appeared in the Telugu film “Kishkindhapuri,” a commercial entertainer. Another film, “SJK: Janaki V vs State of Kerala,” didn’t make a major mark at the box office. Meanwhile, her Malayalam movie “The Pet Detective” has already been released. After Diwali, Dhruv Vikram’s film “Bison” also arrived in theaters. Alongside her Tamil and Malayalam releases, several of her films have been dubbed into Telugu.

Now, “The Pet Detective” is also getting a multi-language OTT release. It will begin streaming on ZEE5 from November 28 in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi.

The film is helmed by Praneesh Vijayan and produced by Shroff U. Deen, who also plays the lead role. The cast includes Vinayakan, Vinay Fort, Shyam Mohan, and Jyoman Jyotir in key characters.

The story revolves around Jose Alula (played by Shroff U. Deen), a small-time detective eager to prove his capability. While he usually deals with minor assignments, he accepts a case involving a missing pet. The investigation leads him into a chaotic world involving international smugglers, kidnappers, a missing child, a dangerous Mexican mafia boss, a rare fish, and a determined police officer searching for a girl.

The film blends quirky humor, unusual characters, surprising plot turns, and a high-energy comedic climax reminiscent of classic Priyadarshan-style comedies.

Producer and actor Shroff U. Deen shared that the film is extremely special to him as it marks his debut as a producer. He added that the team aimed to create a light-hearted entertainer that audiences can enjoy without overthinking. He expressed happiness over the positive response to the Malayalam version on ZEE5 and is delighted that audiences across all major South Indian languages—and Hindi—can now watch it.
