Unni Mukundan's upcoming action film Marco is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 20, just in time for Christmas, as confirmed by the makers on Tuesday. The film's first audio release is set for November 22, 2024, according to a press release shared on social media. Directed by Haneef Adeni, Marco serves as a spin-off to his 2018 movie Mikhael, which starred Nivin Pauly.

The film features a talented ensemble cast that includes Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, Arjun Nandakumar, Durva Thaker, Yukti Tareja, Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan, Ishan Shoukath, Siddique, Jagadish, and Riyaz Khan, among others. The technical crew includes cinematographer Chandru Selvaraj, editor Shameer Muhammed, and music director Ravi Basrur, known for his work on the KGF series.

In Mikhael, Nivin Pauly played the lead role, while Unni Mukundan portrayed the villain Marco Jr. The spin-off will explore Marco's backstory and his rise in the criminal underworld. The filmmakers have described Marco as one of the most intense and violent films ever made in Malayalam cinema. Produced by Shareef Muhammed under Cubes Entertainments and Unni Mukundan Films, Marco will also be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Unni Mukundan's other upcoming films include Get-Set Baby, Mindiyum Paranjum, and Gandharva Jr.
