A wave of sorrow has swept through the Malayalam film industry as veteran actor Ravi Kumar passed away. The 71-year-old actor had been suffering from health issues for the past few days and was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Chennai, where he breathed his last on Friday. The news of his death was shared by his son via social media. Following the announcement, celebrities from both the Malayalam and Tamil film industries have expressed their condolences.

Ravi Kumar hailed from Thrissur, Kerala, and made his debut in the Malayalam film industry in 1975. He earned recognition through his performances in notable films such as Ullasa Yathra, Avarghal, CBI 5, and Paramanandam.Apart from Malayalam, Ravi Kumar also acted in Tamil cinema. His notable works in Tamil include Allauddeen Adbhutha Vilakku, Ramana, and Ananda Raagam, through which he showcased his versatile acting talent.
