Veteran Malayalam Actor Meghanathan Passes Away At 60

Meghanathan passes away

Renowned Malayalam actor Meghanathan, aged 60, passed away early this morning at around 2 am while undergoing treatment for a lung-related illness at a private hospital in Kozhikode. The son of legendary actor Balan K. Nair, Meghanathan was known for his distinctive performances in over 60 films.

Born in Trivandrum, Kerala, to Balan K. Nair and Sarada Nair, Meghanathan was the third of five siblings. He completed his schooling at the Asan Memorial Association in Chennai and later earned a Diploma in Automobile Engineering from Coimbatore.

Meghanathan's career spanned several decades, with notable roles in films such as Panchagni, Chenkol, Malappuram Haji Mahanaya Joji, Udhyanapalakan, Kohinoor, Action Hero Biju, Aadhi, and Kooman. He made his debut in 1983 with Ashthram directed by P.N. Menon.

The funeral will take place at his residence in Shoranur. He is survived by his wife, Susmitha, and daughter, Parvathi.
