Arrest Warrant Issued Against Sonu Sood in ₹10 Lakh Fraud Case
A court in Ludhiana, Punjab, has issued an arrest warrant against actor Sonu Sood in connection with a ₹10 lakh fraud case. The court had earlier summoned him as a witness in the case, but he failed to appear, leading to the warrant's issuance. As news of this spread rapidly on social media, Sonu Sood expressed his frustration and took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify his stance.
Sonu Sood addressed the viral news, stating that he had no connection to the case and was only summoned as a witness. He mentioned that his legal team had already responded to the court and that they would issue an official statement on February 10, declaring their non-involvement in the matter. He criticized the media for unnecessarily targeting celebrities and warned of taking strict action against misleading reports.
The case was filed by lawyer Rajesh Khanna from Ludhiana, who accused a man named Mohit Shukla of defrauding him of ₹10 lakh under the pretext of cryptocurrency investment. The court had summoned Sonu Sood to testify as a witness in the case, but after his absence, the arrest warrant was issued. Meanwhile, the court has postponed the case hearing to February 10.
