Bomb Threats Reported at Residences of Rajinikanth and Dhanush in Chennai
Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India: Authorities in Tamil Nadu have been placed on high alert following a new wave of bomb threats targeting the homes of well-known film and political figures. Early Tuesday morning, the office of the Chennai Director General of Police (DGP) received an email warning of bombs planted at the residences of Tamil cinema icons Rajinikanth and Dhanush.
The alleged threats were directed toward Rajinikanth’s residence in Poes Garden, Dhanush’s house, and the home of TNCC president Selvaperunthangai in Keelapakkam. In response, bomb detection and dog squad teams were immediately deployed to carry out intensive searches at all the mentioned locations. Security arrangements have been significantly strengthened across Chennai as a precautionary measure.
This incident follows a series of similar threats earlier this month. On October 3, authorities received bomb alerts concerning the residences of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, actress Trisha, the BJP headquarters, the DGP’s office, and the Raj Bhavan. Later, on October 13, further warnings were issued involving the homes of M.K. Stalin and Rajinikanth.
Officials are currently investigating the source of the latest email and whether it is connected to the previous incidents.
