Case Filed Against Vijay as Muslim Groups Express Outrage Over Iftar Feast

Tamil actor Vijay has landed in controversy as a case has been filed against him. Muslim organizations are expressing strong anger, alleging that he insulted the Iftar feast. Vijay, who has risen as a South Indian star hero, recently entered politics and founded the Tamil Vetri Kazhagam party. As part of his political activities, he organized an Iftar feast for Muslim leaders. The event was held at the YMCA grounds in Royapettah, Chennai, during Ramadan. Vijay participated in the prayers while wearing a skull cap at the time of breaking the fast. However, the Sunni Jamaat, a Muslim organization, has strongly opposed this act.

The organization claims that Vijay insulted the sacred Iftar tradition, causing deep offense. Representatives of the group have filed a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner. They alleged that the Iftar event conducted by Vijay disrespected the Muslim community. According to them, people who were intoxicated and those who were not fasting attended the gathering. They argued that Iftar should be observed only by fasting Muslims with utmost sanctity. They also mentioned that some bodyguards pushed Muslims at the event, further hurting their religious sentiments.As of now, Vijay’s team has not responded to the complaint. Meanwhile, Vijay is currently working on his final film, which is said to have a strong political backdrop.
