Dhanush, the Tamil superstar, and Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, have filed for divorce at the family court. The hearing for their petition took place at the Chennai Family Court on Wednesday. This was the first time both of them appeared before the court. During the hearing, they informed the court that they no longer wish to stay together and have decided to part ways. After hearing their arguments, the court has postponed the final hearing to the 27th of this month, on which day the verdict will be announced.

It is known that Dhanush and Aishwarya announced their separation in January 2022, marking the end of their 18-year-long relationship. They shared this announcement via social media. "For 18 years, we understood each other as friends, spouses, parents, and well-wishers, and continued our journey together. Now, we are ready to travel on different paths, and we have decided to part ways," they said in their social media announcement.

Aishwarya, the eldest daughter of Rajinikanth, married Dhanush on November 18, 2004. The couple, who have two sons named Yatra and Linga, have been living apart for the past two years. After the announcement of their divorce, they were seen attending their children's school events. Currently, the two children are living with Aishwarya, though they occasionally visit their father, Dhanush, as per reports from Tamil media.
