Dhanush Faces Tamil Film Producers Council's Scrutiny Over Casting And New Regulations
Tamil Film Producers Council demands consultation for casting Dhanush amid allegations from Sri Thenandal Films. New regulations to address project abandonment and production costs were announced.

Dhanush is facing scrutiny from the Tamil Film Producers Council following allegations from Sri Thenandal Films. The council is now requiring filmmakers to consult them before casting Dhanush in new projects. This decision stems from accusations that Dhanush accepted an advance payment but failed to show up for the shoot last year.
The council has issued a 'red card' to Dhanush, signaling serious concern, and has implemented new rules to prevent actors and technicians from abandoning projects after receiving advances. From August 16, new project commencements will be suspended to address backlogs, and all shoots and post-production will pause starting November 1 to regulate production costs.
Additionally, high-budget films featuring major stars will only be available on OTT platforms after an eight-week theatrical run to ensure theaters receive adequate business.
