The first-look posters for Dhanush's fourth directorial, Idli Kadai, were released on New Year's Day. One of the posters shows Dhanush in a rural setting, wearing a veshti and carrying utensils, with the caption "Stay connected to your roots." Another poster features him alongside Rajkiran, who plays his father.

Dhanush, who will direct and star in the film, also co-produces Idli Kadai. The movie features Nithya Menen and Samuthirakani in key roles. While specific plot details and the full cast are yet to be revealed, Dhanush is expected to play the owner of a local eatery named Sivanesan Idli Kadai.

GV Prakash Kumar, who has collaborated with Dhanush on recent films like Vaathi and Captain Miller, will compose the music. The film also boasts cinematography by Kiran Koushik, editing by Prasanna GK, and production design by Jacki. Idli Kadai is produced by Dawn Pictures, Red Giant Movies, and Wunderbar Films, with Aakash Baskaran and Dhanush as producers. The movie is slated for a theatrical release on April 10, 2025.
