Kollywood star Dhanush, currently directing his upcoming film Idly Kadai (Idly Kottu in Telugu), narrowly avoided a major mishap. After wrapping up a shooting schedule at a specially built village set in Anuppapatti, Theni district, a massive fire broke out on the location Saturday night.

Fortunately, the crew had vacated the set, and no casualties were reported. Locals quickly alerted the Andipatti fire brigade, who managed to control the blaze. Authorities are still investigating the cause.

Idly Kadai is Dhanush’s fourth directorial after Pa Paandi, Raayan, and NEEK. He also stars in and produces the film, which features Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, and Samuthirakani.
