The copyright dispute between top stars Dhanush and Nayanthara over the documentary ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’ is far from over. Nayanthara, along with her husband Vignesh Shivan, is facing this legal battle. A few months ago, Dhanush filed a case in the Chennai court, alleging that behind-the-scenes visuals from his film ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ were used in the documentary without permission. The documentary was released on Netflix in November, and at that time, the court rejected Dhanush’s request to halt its streaming.

Now, the hearing for this case is scheduled for next month. In this context, Dhanush’s legal team has submitted a fresh affidavit. The affidavit claims that during the shooting of ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,’ director Vignesh Shivan acted irresponsibly, taking multiple retakes of Nayanthara’s scenes, causing inconvenience to other actors and financial loss to the production.As a result, Dhanush has demanded ₹1 crore as compensation. With the final court verdict expected in April, the outcome of this legal battle has become a topic of great interest.
