Suriya and Jyothika's daughter, Diya Suriya, has directed her debut documentary titled Leading Light – The Untold Stories of Women Behind the Scenes. The film highlights the discrimination faced by female gaffers in the entertainment industry.

Diya gained attention in 2022 for her outstanding academic performance, scoring impressively in her class 10 exams. Despite their busy schedules, Suriya prioritizes education for his children.
