Kanguva is a highly anticipated film featuring the renowned actor Suriya in the lead role.Directed by Shankar, this film is a grand periodic action film. The movie was produced by renowned production companies Studio Green, UV Creations, and K.E. Gnanavel Raja, Vamsi, and Promod. Released worldwide on November 14, the movie was distributed in the Nizam area by Maitri Movie Distributors. The movie has received mixed responses after its release, despite high expectations.

Currently running in theaters, the movie has received several criticisms. Particularly, the sound and the overwhelming background music were found to be a problem. Moreover, the film's duration was deemed excessively long.The film features Suriya in dual roles, and many felt that the film's length was unnecessary. In response, the makers, who woke up a bit late, trimmed 12 minutes of scenes from the movie. Starting today, the newly edited version will be shown in theaters.

The makers also suggested theater owners reduce two points of the music. Originally, the film was expected to collect around ₹2,000 crores, but it is currently hovering around ₹150 crores. It remains to be seen whether the trimmed version of the film will cause a jump in collections.
