Karthi injured his leg while filming an action sequence for Sardar 2 in Mysuru and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors advised him a week of rest, leading to a temporary halt in shooting. The team will resume filming once he recovers.

Directed by PS Mithran, Sardar 2 has completed 80% of its shooting and features Karthi in dual roles. The film also stars SJ Suryah, Rajisha Vijayan, Malavika Mohanan, and Ashika Ranganath. Earlier in July 2024, a stuntman tragically lost his life on set.
