Madras Court Directs Vishal to Pay Rs. 21 Crores with Interest to Lyca Productions

Madras Court Directs Vishal to Pay Rs. 21 Crores

Kollywood hero Vishal has been involved in a financial dispute for several years with the prominent production house Lyca Productions. Recently, the Madras Court delivered a surprising verdict in favor of Lyca Productions. The court directed Vishal to repay the money along with legal expenses to Lyca Productions.

Lyca Productions stated that Vishal had taken a loan of Rs. 21.29 crores from them promising to produce a film but never made any movie as per the agreement. After Vishal failed to repay the amount, Lyca Productions approached the Madras High Court in 2022. At that time, the court ordered Vishal to deposit Rs. 15 crores with them and submit his asset details. The court also issued a stay preventing Vishal from releasing any films he acted in or produced in theaters or OTT platforms until further orders.

However, Vishal violated the court orders, prompting Lyca Productions to file a contempt case against him. Subsequently, the court reprimanded Vishal and ordered him to pay Rs. 21.29 crores to Lyca Productions along with 30% interest and legal expenses. Vishal has submitted his asset details to the court, including documents related to three cars, one bike, two bank accounts, and loan information on his house.
