Nayanthara, the Lady Superstar of Indian cinema, shared the sweet story of how she fell in love with her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, in her upcoming documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, releasing on her birthday, November 18.

Nayanthara’s Love Story

In a clip from the documentary, Nayanthara recalls a moment while filming in Pondicherry. She was sitting on the road, waiting for her shot, when she saw Vignesh working with actor Vijay Sethupathi. "For some strange reason, I looked at him differently. I thought he was cute, and the way he explained things and functioned as a director caught my attention," she revealed.

Vignesh’s Perspective

Vignesh, on his part, described how their connection grew. After a shoot, Nayanthara mentioned missing the set, to which Vignesh responded similarly. He admitted, "Any guy will compliment a good-looking girl in his mind, but I never saw Nayan Ma’am in that way initially."

The couple’s relationship took a turn when Nayanthara took the first step, and they began to see each other in a different light.

Their Wedding

Nayanthara and Vignesh tied the knot on June 9, 2022, in a star-studded ceremony in Mahabalipuram, attended by celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, AR Rahman, and more.
