This sports drama features a cast that includes Madhavan, Siddharth, Meera Jasmine, and Kaali Venkat. Written by Suman Kumar, the film's music is composed by Shaktisree Gopalan, marking her debut in this role.

Although filming has concluded and there were initial plans for a theatrical release this year, recent reports from Glitz suggest that Test may instead premiere directly on OTT, with official confirmation still pending.

This development follows speculation that Kamal Haasan's Indian 3, originally slated for a January 2025 theatrical release, may also shift to OTT, depending on the performance of its predecessor, Indian 2, which was released earlier this year. Directed by Shankar, Indian 3 is a vigilante action thriller and a sequel to the 1996 classic Indian.

In addition to Test, Nayanthara has other projects in the works, including Manangattin Since 1960, A Good Student, and Mookuthi Amman 2, the sequel to her hit film with RJ Balaji, directed by Sundar C. She is also set to star in an untitled film alongside Vishnu Edavan and Kavin.
