Ponniyin Selvan Celebrates Two Years

To mark the occasion, Sobhita Dhulipala shared a group photo on social media with co-stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Trisha Krishnan, humorously calling them "THE AVENGERS."

The film, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel, chronicles the life of Chola Emperor Rajaraja I and has seen success globally in multiple dubbed versions. Recent accolades at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) 2024 included Aishwarya winning Best Actress (Critics) for Ponniyin Selvan – 2, while Vikram won Best Actor (Tamil).

The sequel expands on the rich narrative, featuring Kamal Haasan's narration and A. R. Rahman's Oscar-winning score. The cast includes Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Trisha, among others, exploring themes of political intrigue and the early life of Arunmozhi Varman, who later becomes Rajaraja I.
