Prateik Babbar, the son of legendary actress Smita Patil and actor Raj Babbar, has spoken about his drug addiction from a young age. He clarified how he got into drugs, explaining that it was due to his family circumstances, not because of his entry into the film industry. In an interview, he addressed the various rumors surrounding his drug addiction and stated that he would answer all of them.

He went on to say, "I have been discussing this for years, but it still hasn’t come to an end." People assume that I started using drugs after entering films and making money, but that's not true. I became addicted to drugs when I was 13 or 14 years old. It wasn’t due to the film industry; it was due to my family circumstances. Drugs affected both me and my family greatly. My future wife played a huge role in helping me change, and I can now say that the drug story is over."

The actor has appeared in films like Dhobi Ghat, Dum Maaro Dum, Aarakshan, Baaghi 2, Mulk, Chhichhore, Mumbai Saga, and India Lockdown, earning a good following. He is currently busy working on several films in Bollywood.
