Prominent Tamil director Jayabharathi (77) has passed away. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment for a kidney infection at a hospital in Chennai.Jayabharathi gained recognition in 1979 with the film Kudisai, which was made using the crowdfunding method. Over a cinematic career spanning 50 years, he directed only 9 films.He initially worked as a journalist and later became acquainted with the prominent director Balachander. Despite being encouraged to act as a hero, Jayabharathi declined the offer.
