Rajinikanth, heading to Kerala for a six-day shoot, said Jailer 2 will be completed by June 2026, with the release to follow.

The sequel reunites director Nelson with Rajinikanth as ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian and Ramya Krishnan. Shivarajkumar returns; Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff’s involvement is unconfirmed.

The cast may include Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, and Anna Raajan. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film’s music is by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan. Official release date and plot are yet to be announced.
