Rajkumar Periasamy Reveals Dhanush's D55
Rajkumar Periasamy recently revealed that following the success of Amaran, he is collaborating with Dhanush for the actor’s 55th film, tentatively titled D55. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the filmmaker shared details about the film's concept, stating that D55 will focus on the story of unsung heroes. He explained, "My previous film was about a hero who received a Gallantry award. My next film will highlight many unsung heroes who blend into society, with the protagonist representing one such hero."
Anbuchezhiyan and Sushmita Anbuchezhiyan will produce D55 under their Gopuram Films banner. However, details regarding the cast, plot, and official title of the film have been kept under wraps for now.
Dhanush, who was last seen in his second directorial Raayan, has multiple upcoming projects in different stages of production. These include his own directorial venture Idly Kadai, Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera, the Ilaiyaraaja biopic Maestro directed by Arun Matheswaran, Aanand L Rai's Tere Ishk Mein, and an untitled film with Mari Selvaraj. Additionally, Dhanush is awaiting the release of his third directorial film Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, starring Priya Prakash Varrier, Mathew Thomas, Anikha Surendran, and Rabiya Khatoon. Meanwhile, Rajkumar Periasamy is celebrating the success of Amaran, a biopic of Major Mukund Varadarajan’s life, with Sai Pallavi playing Mukund's wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese.
