Seasoned filmmaker Partho Ghosh, celebrated for his influential 90s movies such as Agni Sakshi, Ghulam-E-Musthafa, Teesra Kaun?, and Yugpurush, passed away at the age of 75 due to a heart attack.
Actor Rituparna Sengupta confirmed his passing and paid tribute, calling him a visionary director and a kind soul. Ghosh was praised for blending social realism with mainstream cinema, with Agni Sakshi highlighting domestic violence and Ghulam-E-Musthafa becoming a cult classic about the underworld.
He helmed several Hindi and Bengali TV series and was instrumental in bringing Rituparna Sengupta to the attention of Hindi audiences in 1994. Until his passing, he was involved in developing sequels for 100 Days and Agni Sakshi.
