SC Orders Karnataka To Release Kamal Haasan's Thug Life

The controversy erupted after Kamal Haasan remarked that the Kannada language has its roots in Tamil, sparking protests and prompting a temporary ban on the film's release in Karnataka. Haasan approached the court, which directed the state to provide security to theatres and act against protestors. The Karnataka government agreed and issued notices to those obstructing the release.

Thug Life was originally set to release on June 5. Kamal Haasan expressed satisfaction with the court's verdict and closed the case.
