Veteran stuntman SM Raju tragically died on July 13 while performing a high-speed car stunt for Pa. Ranjith’s film Vettuvan, starring Arya. The accident occurred during a car toppling scene in Vizhundhamaavadi, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu. A viral video shows the car losing control before crashing.

Raju was rushed to Nagapattinam Government Medical College but was declared dead.

Raju, 52, was known for his fearless stunts. Actor Vishal paid tribute on X, and stunt coordinator Silva mourned him on Instagram. Arya and Ranjith have yet to comment. Vettuvan, produced by Neelam Productions, also stars Sobhita Dhulipala and Attakathi Dinesh.
