Sridevi Property Dispute: Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor Move Madras High Court

Sridevi Property Dispute Update

Film producer Boney Kapoor, along with his daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, has approached the Madras High Court in connection with a property dispute linked to late actor Sridevi.

The family has filed a joint petition seeking to quash a civil suit filed by certain individuals claiming ownership rights over a 4.7-acre property located in Chengalpattu district. The petition challenges the maintainability of the suit currently pending before a local court.

According to case details, the property in question was purchased by Sridevi in 1988 along the East Coast Road after due verification of legal documents and completion of proper registration formalities. However, a group of claimants has alleged that the land originally belonged to a person identified as Mudaliar.

The matter is presently under consideration before the Chengalpattu Additional District Court. Challenging these proceedings, Boney Kapoor and his daughters moved the Madras High Court by filing a civil revision petition.

A bench headed by Justice T.V. Tamilselvi heard the matter and granted an interim stay on the lower court proceedings. The High Court has adjourned the case for further hearing until March 26, 2026.
