Suriya's 45th film, titled Karuppu, has officially begun shooting. Helmed by RJ Balaji, the film is bankrolled by Prakash Babu and S.R. Prabhu under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner. Backed by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film features Trisha in the lead role alongside Suriya, with a powerful soundtrack composed by A.R. Rahman.

The project started last year with a puja at Masani Amman temple in Anaimalai, near Pollachi. Karuppu is expected to be an action-adventure film, releasing later this year. RJ Balaji, who delivered back-to-back hits with Amoru Thaali and Veetla Vishesham, is now eyeing a third consecutive success with his latest directorial venture starring Suriya.
