In a letter addressed to the people of the state, TVK party chief and actor Vijay expressed his deep concern over a rape incident involving a student at Anna University. He stated that he is experiencing unbearable pain witnessing the increasing sexual assaults on women and the failure of law and order in the state.

Vijay mentioned that despite his appeals to the DMK, there has been no positive outcome. He emphasized that the current situation is unacceptable and that urgent actions need to be taken to protect women in Tamil Nadu.

Vijay called for the creation of a safer Tamil Nadu as a solution to this issue. He also stated that the DMK government has failed to bring any benefits to the state and has not contributed to addressing such grave matters.
