Vijay Sethupathi’s milestone 50th film, Maharaja, turned out to be a blockbuster, raking in ₹200 crore against a modest ₹20 crore budget. Helmed by first-time director Nithilan Swaminathan, the film featured standout performances by Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Abhirami, earning both critical acclaim and commercial success.

  Now, Sethupathi and Nithilan are teaming up again for Maharaja 2, with an official announcement expected soon. Meanwhile, Sethupathi is also working on a Telugu film with Puri Jagannadh.
