Vikram and Suriya to Star in Shankar's Next Film After Game Changer
The story of Velpari delves into the mysteries surrounding the Chera, Chola, and Pandyan tribes and their conflict with the small nation of Parambu and its resident, Pari Vallal.

Renowned filmmaker Shankar is reportedly set to return to the big screen with a new project that could feature two of South Indian cinema's biggest stars: Vikram and Suriya. This anticipated film is said to be based on the novel Velpari, written by SU Venkatesan, and will be a historical drama. If confirmed, it would mark Vikram's third collaboration with Shankar and Suriya's first.
Vikram and Suriya previously worked together in the 2003 action-drama Pithamagan, directed by Bala. This film also featured actors like Laila, Sangeetha, and Karunaas, with music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by Balasubrahmannyam.
Shankar's last film, Indian 2, was released on July 12 and starred Kamal Haasan in the lead role, along with Siddharth and Rakul Preet Singh. The film was produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
