Veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja is currently receiving medical care at a private hospital in the city.

The renowned Tamil cinema director, who began his filmmaking journey with Padinaru Vaidinile, is reported to be unwell and has been admitted for treatment. Over the years, Bharathiraja has delivered several blockbuster films, including Sigappurozhakkal, Kizhakkepogum Train, and Tik Tik Tik. In recent times, he has remained active in the industry as both a director and an actor. Notably, he portrayed the role of actor Dhanush’s grandfather in the film Tiruchitram Balam.

Tragedy struck the filmmaker’s family last year when his son, Manoj Bharti Raja, passed away due to cancer in March. Since that loss, Bharathiraja has been living alone, coping with profound grief. Three days ago, he developed fever and body pain, following which he was taken to a private hospital for medical attention. According to doctors, his health condition is stable.
