Popular television actor Charith Balappa is facing allegations of sexual harassment, which have shaken the Kannada film industry. He was arrested by the Bengaluru RR Nagar police on Friday (December 27). Charith, who has appeared in various Telugu and Kannada serials, is accused of sexually harassing his girlfriend. The woman claims that Charith lied to her, saying he loved her, and then forcibly assaulted her. She also alleges that Charith, along with his associates, barged into her house and harassed her. Additionally, it is alleged that Charith demanded money from her, threatening to leak her private photos and videos if she refused.

Charith is facing charges of sexual harassment, assault, and threats of murder. Based on the woman's complaint, the police arrested Charith Balappa. Charith had previously been married and divorced. After his divorce, he had an altercation with his ex-wife. Charith married actress Manju in 2017, but after 2022, there were differences in their family. They later filed for divorce in court. Charith allegedly threatened his ex-wife after the court issued a notice for the divorce settlement, and a case was registered against him in June at the Sarjapur police station.

Charith Balappa had previously worked with legendary director Raghavendra Rao. As the investigation continues, Charith is currently in police custody. Legal action is expected to be taken against the actor. This case has caused a sensation in the Kannada film industry.
