Actor Posani Krishna Murali Arrested in Hyderabad, Shifted to Andhra Pradesh

Telugu actor Posani Krishna Murali was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police. The police served him notices last night at his apartment in Raidurg and informed his family about the arrest. He was taken into custody after informing the local police. A case was registered against Posani at Obulavaripalle Police Station in Annamayya district under Sections 196, 353(2), and 111 read with 3(5). The complaint was filed by Janasena leader Jogineni Mani, alleging that Posani made objectionable comments against Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, used caste-based insults, and incited social divisions. Posani reportedly had a heated argument with the police before his arrest.

Posani is expected to be presented at Obulavaripalle Police Station and later in Rajampet Court today. During the YSRCP government, he served as the Chairman of APFTVDC and was highly critical of opposition leaders. The ruling coalition leaders claim that Posani made derogatory remarks against AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh. Based on complaints, a CID case was filed against him. Several cases have also been registered in different police stations across Andhra Pradesh, including Bapatla, Anantapur, Palnadu’s Narasaraopet, Chittoor’s Yadamari, and Tirupati’s Puttur. Following this, Posani was arrested and transported to AP.

YSRCP leaders have strongly condemned Posani’s arrest, accusing the ruling coalition of targeting their party members with false cases. They alleged that this was a political vendetta, citing the recent arrest of Vallabhaneni Vamsi as an example. However, ruling coalition leaders dismissed these claims, stating that the arrests were made as per the law and had no political motives. The incident has further escalated political tensions in Andhra Pradesh.
