Actress Kasturi Granted Bail Amid Controversy Over Inappropriate Remarks

Actress Kasturi has been granted bail after facing legal troubles for making inappropriate remarks about Telugu people. Multiple cases were filed against her in Chennai, Madurai, and other locations. Following this, she left Chennai and took refuge in Hyderabad, where she applied for anticipatory bail in the Madurai High Court, which was denied. Acting on a tip-off that she was staying in a flat at BRC Apartments in Puppalaguda, Cyberabad Police assisted Chennai Police in arresting her.

Kasturi was presented in court, where she was sternly warned to think before speaking and was told that reckless and offensive statements would not be tolerated. The court remanded her to custody for 14 days. During her time in jail, Kasturi appealed for bail through her lawyers, citing her responsibility to care for her son, who has autism. The Egmore Court reviewed the case and approved her bail, imposing specific conditions.

Kasturi is set to be released from jail today following the grant of interim bail. Meanwhile, she has become embroiled in another controversy over her remarks against non-Brahmin employees, leading to demands from employee associations for action against her.
