The sequel to the blockbuster Akhanda has been officially announced as Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, reuniting Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu. The title was revealed just before the pooja ceremony, where Balakrishna's daughter, Brahmani, initiated the event by giving the first clap, while his younger daughter turned on the camera.

Filming for Akhanda 2 will begin in December 2024, after Balakrishna completes work on NBK 109. Thaman returns to score the music, with Pragya Jaiswal cast as the female lead. The film is produced by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, with more details expected soon.
