The makers of Kalki 2 (Kalki 2898 AD) starring Prabhas are set to begin shooting early next year and have started approaching actors. Deepika Padukone was initially considered but was dropped due to her high demands, creating a buzz on social media.

Now, sources say the team is in talks with Anushka Shetty to replace Deepika, as she is considered a better fit for the role than Alia Bhatt or Kriti Sanon. Anushka has previously worked with Prabhas in Baahubali 1 & 2 and Mirchi, all major box-office successes.

After her recent flop, fans are eager for Anushka’s comeback, and her rapport with Prabhas increases the likelihood of her joining.

Since Deepika has already shot key scenes, they will need to reshoot with Anushka, increasing the budget. Meanwhile, Prabhas is focused on Raja Saab and will next work on Spirit, with Kalki 2 likely to start afterward.
