AR Rahman Chikiri Song from Ram Charan Peddi Goes Viral

Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi, directed by Buchibabu Sana, continues to make waves with every update. The movie, already one of the most anticipated projects, recently revealed a fresh announcement that has excited fans even more.

The film’s female lead, Janhvi Kapoor, unveiled a new poster introducing her character, while the makers also confirmed the title of the first single—Chikiri Song. Adding to the excitement, music maestro A.R. Rahman personally disclosed the song’s title.

Ram Charan shared a picture of himself seated at a keyboard alongside director Buchibabu Sana and singer Mohit Chauhan, captioning it, “What are you cooking, guys?” Rahman playfully replied, “Chikiri Chikiri... Charan garu,” with the director echoing the same response. Their lighthearted exchange quickly went viral on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), sparking huge buzz among fans eagerly awaiting the song’s release.

Interestingly, A.R. Rahman will also appear in the promotional video for Chikiri. The vocals for the track have been rendered by Mohit Chauhan, a celebrated Bollywood singer who has collaborated with Rahman on numerous hit tracks. Notably, in the film Rockstar, nine out of its fifteen songs were Rahman-Chauhan creations, earning massive acclaim.

Though Mohit Chauhan hasn’t worked extensively in Telugu cinema, he has previously lent his voice to Tamil-to-Telugu dubbed tracks. His distinctive voice was notably appreciated in Evade Subrahmanyam, directed by Nag Ashwin. With Peddi, he is returning to Telugu music after a long gap, and the filmmakers believe his unique tone will add freshness and depth to the Chikiri number.
