Are Fans Unhappy with Prabhas’ Third Film Under Hombale Productions?

Director Hanu Raghavapudi is joining hands with Prabhas for a pre-Independence era drama titled Fauji. Insiders reveal that Prabhas was deeply impressed by Hanu’s creative vision and commitment to storytelling, which led him to sign another project with the director soon after.

At present, Prabhas’ lineup is tightly packed. His film Raja Saab is in its final stages and is scheduled for release on January 9. Following that, Fauji will go on floors in the second half of 2026, with Hanu reportedly working on an entirely new and period-specific look for the star. Once that wraps up, Prabhas is expected to begin work on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, a film anticipated to showcase a bold and experimental approach.

In addition to these, the actor also has Salaar 2 and Kalki 2 lined up. There’s also speculation about a potential collaboration with Prasanth Varma. Fresh industry reports suggest that after Fauji, Hanu and Prabhas will team up again for a new project under the Hombale Films banner.

If all goes as intended, this will mark another major partnership between Prabhas and Hanu, backed by Hombale Films — the powerhouse studio behind hits such as Kantara: Chapter 1 and Mahavatar Narsimha. The production company is said to have three films planned with Prabhas in total.

However, reactions among fans appear mixed. While some appreciate Hanu’s refined and emotional storytelling, others argue that it may not align well with Prabhas’ larger-than-life, action-hero image. Many fans prefer seeing him in high-octane, mass-appeal roles that dominate the pan-India box office. One film like Fauji feels fresh to them, but another in a similar tone has sparked lukewarm interest among a section of his fanbase.
