Known for Mahesh’s calm performance, punchlines, Brahmanandam's comedy, and family appeal, the film still holds a strong fanbase, including record TV airings.

Following the re-release trend started by Pokkiri, Athadu is seeing strong advance bookings, especially overseas, surpassing even recent releases. Distributors in AP and Asian in Nizam are backing it, and with no major competition and a birthday-weekend combo, the re-release is expected to post impressive numbers.
