Nandamuri Balakrishna, who entered Tollywood as the successor to Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, is celebrating 50 years in the film industry on August 29. To mark this milestone, the Telugu film industry is organizing a grand felicitation ceremony on September 1.

The curtain raiser for the Golden Jubilee celebrations was held at FNCC, featuring Balakrishna's brothers, Nandamuri Ramakrishna and Nandamuri Mohanakrishna, unveiling the event's poster. 

Balakrishna's 50-year career is notable for his extensive work, including 109 films, with his latest being directed by Bobby. His achievements as an actor, spanning five decades, are unparalleled. He debuted with "Tathamma Kala" and has since played title roles in the majority of his films.

Highlights from the curtain raiser event include:

  • Nandamuri Mohanakrishna praised Balakrishna's versatility and success in both acting and politics, having won multiple terms as an MLA.
  • Senior Director Kodandarami Reddy lauded Balakrishna's contributions and his respectful demeanor towards directors.
  • Director-Producer Tammareddy Bharadwaja noted that Balakrishna's longevity in cinema is exceptional, second only to Amitabh Bachchan in Indian cinema.
