Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2: Tandavam Worldwide Release Confirmed on December 12

The much-anticipated event has finally been confirmed. The release date for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda Thandavam (Akhanda 2) is now officially fixed.

Exciting news for Balayya fans! The producers have confirmed that ‘Akhanda 2: Tandavam’ will hit theaters worldwide on December 12, with grand premiere shows scheduled for the evening of December 11. Initially, the film was slated for a December 5 release, but legal issues delayed the plan. Eros International had approached the Madras High Court demanding pending payments from the production house 14 Reels Plus, which resulted in a temporary stay on the film’s release.

Following much speculation about whether the release would be on December 12, December 25, or Sankranti, 14 Reels Plus informed the court on Tuesday afternoon that they had reached a settlement with Eros International. With all hurdles cleared, Akhanda 2 is now officially on track for its audience debut.

From the start, ‘Akhanda 2: Tandavam’ was touted as one of the most high-energy projects of the year. Though initially scheduled for December 5, unavoidable issues led to a reschedule, and now the makers are gearing up for the December 12 release. Earlier, other films had also announced the same date, leading to some confusion. Around 15 films were initially lined up for release on that day.

This list included direct releases like ‘Esha’ and ‘Mowgli’, as well as dubbed films such as ‘Annagaru Vathara’ and ‘Lockdown’. While most of the remaining films are not major contenders, the arrival of a big-ticket film like ‘Akhanda 2’ prompted others, including Mowgli and Esha, to postpone their release plans.

Originally, ‘Akhanda 2’ was meant to begin its premiere shows on the night of December 4. However, financial issues prevented the film from releasing as scheduled. On the evening of December 4, there was considerable excitement, and some tickets for premiere shows were already issued. Yet, the film could not reach audiences on time, reportedly dampening the earlier buzz among fans.
