Veteran South Indian actress Bhanupriya, known for her remarkable performances across Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada cinema, is reportedly going through a difficult phase in her personal life. Celebrated for her graceful screen presence and exceptional dancing skills, she has appeared in numerous successful films over the years.

Following the demise of her husband, Bhanupriya is said to have been dealing with severe emotional distress. Reports also suggest that she has been diagnosed with dementia, a condition associated with memory loss. Due to her health condition, her plans to establish a dance school have reportedly been put on hold.

Recently, rumors circulating on social media claimed that her health has worsened significantly. Responding strongly to these claims, her sister, actress Shantipriya, dismissed the speculation and expressed concern over the spread of misinformation.

Shantipriya stated that Bhanupriya has indeed been facing depression for some time, especially after her husband’s passing. She also revealed that although Bhanupriya received offers for major film projects, unexpected changes to roles during production caused her distress. According to her, such practices are unfair, particularly for an artist who has contributed extensively to the industry and earned numerous accolades.

She further expressed disappointment over the lack of support from the film fraternity, noting that Bhanupriya has remained largely confined to her home and has not been invited to industry gatherings such as reunions of senior artists.

Clarifying ongoing rumors, Shantipriya urged people not to spread false information about her sister’s health. She emphasized that Bhanupriya’s condition has not deteriorated to the extent being portrayed online and criticized content creators for making insensitive statements without verified information.

Bhanupriya, who made a lasting impact with films such as Swarnakamalam, Annamayya, and Pedarayudu, was last seen in a supporting role in the film Ayalan. In her personal life, she married graphics engineer Adarsh Kaushal in 1998, and the couple had a daughter in 2002, who is currently pursuing her studies in London. Although they lived separately after a few years of marriage, they were not legally divorced. Adarsh Kaushal passed away in 2018 due to a heart attack.

Shantipriya concluded by stating that Bhanupriya is unlikely to return to films, while she herself will continue her journey in the industry.
