A new case has been filed against director Ram Gopal Varma following a complaint by retired IPS officer Anjana Sinha. The issue relates to his 2022 web series Dahanam, produced under RGV Productions, which depicts a clash between feudalists and Maoists.

RGV had claimed the story was based on a real incident narrated by a retired IPS officer.

However, Anjana Sinha denied sharing any such account, alleging misuse of her identity and objecting to her name being used without consent.

Based on her complaint, Rayadurgam police registered a case and launched an investigation.
