Director Nag Ashwin confirmed Kalki 2 will take time to start filming due to Prabhas’ busy schedule. The first film, Kalki 2898 AD, grossed over Rs. 1,100 crore.

Deepika Padukone, who played a pivotal role in the first film, will not return for the sequel. The makers announced on X that they “decided to part ways” and wished her well.

She was also previously cast in Spirit but left after proposing an eight-hour shift. Her exit from the highly anticipated sequel is expected to create a stir.
