After a long gap, Tollywood’s lady superstar Anushka Shetty returns with Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, releasing worldwide on September 5. Advance bookings are soaring, with many theaters on BookMyShow already housefull.

Known for blockbusters like Arundhati and Bhaagamathie, Anushka plays Sheelavati, a bus conductor who turns to ganja smuggling under certain circumstances. The action thriller, set in the Andhra-Odisha tribal region, blends emotions with Krish’s trademark narration and visuals.

The multilingual release (in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam) has high expectations, thanks to Anushka’s pan-India craze.

Backed by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, the movie features a strong ensemble cast including Vikram Prabhu, Jagapathi Babu, and Jisshu Sengupta.  With massive hype and record bookings, Ghaati looks set to mark a strong comeback for Anushka.
