HCU Land Row: Telangana Leader Slams Celebrities Over Viral Protest Videos

Hyderabad: A top Telangana political leader reportedly expressed serious anger toward film celebrities, saying, “If you keep ignoring things, you are crossing the line. What connection do you have with HCU lands? Why are you interfering in politics instead of minding your own work? Are you criticizing the government just for personal publicity?” The leader was angry over film personalities responding to the cutting down of trees on 400 acres of land in Kanch Gachibowli. Rumors in the film industry suggest that this leader warned that criticizing the government would not be tolerated. It is also being discussed that the leader called a prominent producer and spoke to him harshly.

Meanwhile, several Telugu film celebrities raised their voices against the government's actions. Upasana, wife of actor Ram Charan, questioned the government via Instagram: “If you proceed like this, where will the animals and birds go? Where will you replant the trees you cut down?” She appealed, “CM Revanth Reddy garu, I’m requesting you as a mother. Our future generations need oxygen and water. Development is essential — IT parks, tall buildings — everything is needed! But please spare these 400 acres. Find barren lands instead. I beg you.”

Actress Renu Desai, former wife of AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, released a video saying, “Do something. I’m asking you as a mother. Please think once.” Anchor Rashmi Gautam also released a video pleading not to displace voiceless animals from the forest. These videos received strong support from netizens. It is believed that the videos from film celebrities triggered public attention on the destruction at HCU lands, which in turn made the top political leader furious at them.
