IT officials recently raided the producers of Pushpa 2, including renowned producer Dil Raju, Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman, and producers Naveen Erneni and CEO Cherry. This comes after the producers claimed that Pushpa 2 had grossed over 1850 crores worldwide. The raids are linked to their publicizing inflated box office collections through posters, which appear to have exceeded the actual earnings. While revealing collections were once avoided, it has now become a trend in the industry to attract audiences with exaggerated numbers.

The controversy is further fueled by previous instances, such as the Game Changer movie, where producers announced a gross collection of 186 crores on its opening day, despite poor reviews. Similarly, Pushpa 2 posters claiming it as an industry hit with gross earnings of 1860 crores have drawn scrutiny, leading to the IT investigation. Additionally, searches were conducted on financial backers like Rangayya, involved in Devara, and Abhishek Agarwal.
