Janhvi Kapoor Tipped for Iconic Item Song in Pushpa 3 by Devi Sri Prasad

The ‘Pushpa’ series of films has garnered massive collections worldwide. Directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, these films were elevated to another level by the music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The item songs in these films have been a major attraction. Recently, for the third part of this series, Devi Sri Prasad expressed his opinion that actress Janhvi Kapoor dancing for the item song would be a great choice. He shared these thoughts in an interview with an English media outlet.

He said, “We already knew that whoever performed in the item song ‘Kissick’ in ‘Pushpa 2’ would become internationally popular. Since Sreeleela is an amazing dancer, I suggested her to the makers, and it worked out well. Many top actresses have made their debut in special songs with my compositions. Actresses like Pooja Hegde, Samantha, Sreeleela, and Kajal Aggarwal performed in item songs when they were at the peak of their careers. Now, there has been speculation about who will appear in the item song of ‘Pushpa 3.’ The final decision will be taken by the director and producers. The heroine will be chosen based on the song’s requirements. Good dancers are always a great fit. I am a fan of Sai Pallavi’s dancing. Similarly, Janhvi Kapoor is an exceptional dancer. I’ve watched some of her songs and feel she carries the grace of Sridevi. I think Janhvi would be the perfect choice for such a song. Dancing is a key reason for the success of these types of songs.”

‘Pushpa: The Rise,’ which was released in 2021, was a super hit. Its sequel, ‘Pushpa: The Rule,’ was released in December 2024 and is still creating a buzz in theaters. The film has broken the box office record set by ‘Baahubali 2’ and is nearing ₹2000 crore in collections. Recently, additional scenes with a 20-minute runtime were added to the movie. Following this, the third installment titled ‘Pushpa 3: The Rampage’ is in the works.
