Kalki 2 Shooting Update: Prabhas to Join Sets from February After Raja Saab Release

Kalki 2 Update: Prabhas to Begin Filming for the Sequel Soon, Fans Excited

Pan-India superstar Prabhas and filmmaker Nag Ashwin created a cinematic spectacle with Kalki 2898 AD, and the journey is far from complete.

Released in June last year, Kalki 2898 AD made a strong impact worldwide and further strengthened Prabhas global appeal by earning over Rs 1,000 crore at the box office. The science-fiction epic featured an impressive ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur, making it one of the most ambitious Indian films ever made.

Prabhas is currently engaged in multiple high-profile projects. His next theatrical release is The Raja Saab, a horror-comedy directed by Maruthi. Scheduled for release on January 9 as a Sankranthi special, the film stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar in lead roles. With its songs, teaser, and trailer already receiving a positive response, expectations are high, and the team is confident about its success at the box office.

Soon after The Raja Saab hits cinemas, fans can look forward to another major update. Shooting for Kalki 2 is expected to commence in February next year. The climax of the first installment hinted at a powerful confrontation between Prabhas and Kamal Haasan, and this intense face-off will play a pivotal role in the sequel. Director Nag Ashwin has reportedly planned an extensive shooting schedule to film these large-scale battle sequences.

At present, Prabhas is also working on Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Considering the significance of Kalki 2, the actor has decided to briefly pause work on Spirit and join the sets of the sequel. The move has received full support from Sandeep Reddy Vanga as well.

Meanwhile, the makers at Vyjayanthi Movies have hinted that filming for Kalki 2 will begin soon. Trade analysts believe production will officially start in February. With The Raja Saab releasing in January and Kalki 2 going on floors shortly after, the coming months promise exciting times ahead for Prabhas admirers.
